Food industry achieves efficient productivity with rapid return on investment through targeted technology.

By government rule, all products cannot have smaller quantities on their packaging than what is specified on the packaging. They may even have more, but if they have less, they will receive a fine. Therefore, numerous companies in the food market need to include overweight in their products, in order to avoid problems with quantity.

The cooperative wanted to minimize the overweight rates of its products as much as possible and launched it for Sequor the challenge of seeking this solution alongside its LES and MES systems that were already being implemented in the plant.

Sequor integrated with the 9 bottlers and we started to get some more information from them.

We also integrated with the labeling machines and then we monitor the bottlers to know how much is being filled in each product and we integrated with the labeling machine to generate the product label and individualize each item so that we can monitor them.

Parallel to this, we use our Letter system (CEP) and integrate it with a scale that is located at the along their production line. This scale weighs 100% of the products, while Sequor reads the generated label. This way, we know which filling company is filling the item and using the CEP chart we can generate a trend chart. The filling machine has a certain variability that, from time to time, the amount of product being placed inside the packaging decreases or may increase and needs to be adjusted.

With this monitoring we can see the trend and we can ensure that, even if it is not within the standard limits, it does not go outside the specified limit.

The company managed to reduce and keep the excess weight of its packaging at low volumes thanks to warnings and adjustments according to the trend presented by the system.

They also managed to reduce 200kg of product for each truck that is shipped in its production daily. The ROI was 6 months and only with the gain of this overweight solution, it was possible to cover the entire value of the previously implemented MES and LES system from Sequor.
